Here at XILO we understand the need for fast and reliable hardware. We custom build all servers in-house, only using premium components from SuperMicro, 3ware, Intel and Seagate.
All servers are "soak" tested for at least 7 days to ensure all hardware is fault free and to help avoid problems when placed in a live environment. During the "soak" period, we test the hardware with varying degrees of load on core components such as Memory, CPU and Hard Drives.
We run a standard system configuration on all servers. We have listed our default system configuration to show that no expense has been spared.
SuperMicro 1U Server
Intel High-Performance CPU
ECC Registered DDR2 Memory
Hot Swap Drives (RAID)
Dual full duplex, 1000mb/s
NICs
Adaptec / 3ware PCI-X RAID Card

server security
We take the security of our network, servers and data very seriously. We run only the latest Linux operating system; CentOS. All servers are optimised and secured further before being placed on our firewalled network, this ensures that our servers cannot be comprimised before they are deployed.
In addition to our RAID1 configuration (should one drive fail, the server will continue to operate using its mirrored spare and notify our engineers that we need to replace the failed disk), all servers are connected to an internal backup network that is not reachable from the internet.
We backup each server in the early hours of the morning, several times each week. Should there be any unlikely issues with our RAID1 configuration, we are able to restore data to a server within minutes, should the need arise. |
